Big Sit at Point Pelee National Park

Trip : Big Sit at Point Pelee National Park.

Trip Description: Meet 8:00a.m. at the North-west Beach parking lot at Point Pelee National Park (entry fee). A Big Sit will be conducted here close to the picnic shelter. View lake for waterbirds, woods for passerine migrants, and overhead for migrating raptors, swallows, passerines and marsh birds.

Who can come: Trip is for OFO members. (One birding buddy may accompany registrant if required).  Maximum: 30 participants. 

Leader: Jeremy Hatt

Location: Point Pelee National Park (entry fee).

What to bring: Lunch if birding all day, rain gear, water, sunscreen, insect repellant, snacks. Please contact trip leader in advance if you require loaner binoculars or accommodations by emailing admin@ofo.ca. 

Terrain: Flat terrain. No walking necessary.

Land Acknowledgement for Point Pelee National Park :
We are on the traditional territory of the Three Fires Confederacy of First Nations, composed of the Ojibwa, the Odawa, and the Potawatomi. Specifically, this is the home of Caldwell First Nation, and part of the house of Walpole Island First Nation. We acknowledge the caregivers of this land and all the moccasins that have travelled it over time.
